When winter comes to Ohio, the snow comes with it! Soon it will be time to get out your snowblower and clear the driveway. If you are new to operating a snowblower, or just need a refresher, here are some tips to help you get started.
Are you still in the market for a snowblower? We have a great selection of snowblowers for sale here at Loudermilk Tractor & Cycle. You can find us in Ashtabula, OH.
Prevent Heavy Buildup
You might be inclined to wait until after a heavy snowfall to break out your snowblower. However, it is actually best to clear the snow while it is still light. If the snow gets too deep, you risk damaging your snowblower or getting it stuck.
Plan Your Attack
Once you know how to operate your snowblower, you can start working on an attack plan. First, evaluate the size and shape of the area you intend to clear. This will help you determine the best path to take.
Next, consider the weather conditions. If high winds are a factor, make sure to start clearing snow on the upwind side of the area, and move downwind. This will help prevent snow from being blown back into areas you have already cleared.
Maintain Your Snowblower
Your snowblower will work best and last longer if you take good care of it. Make sure to clean the snowblower on a regular basis and remove built-up snow or ice. You should also lubricate all the moving parts on occasion to keep them from rusting or freezing.
